The collaboration between Milan's well known Istituto Marangoni and the Saudi Fashion Commission signifies a significant stride in the realm of fashion education, with the establishment of a Higher Training Institute in Riyadh slated for inauguration in 2025. This endeavor aims to offer specialized courses in fashion and luxury, tailored to foster the growth of local talent and create job opportunities within related sectors throughout Saudi Arabia.
Burak Çakmak, CEO of the Fashion Commission under Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture, expressed enthusiasm regarding the partnership, highlighting Istituto Marangoni's global reputation in fashion and design education. This venture marks the institution's maiden foray into Saudi Arabia, distinguishing itself as the first foreign direct investment in the educational sector within the country. Çakmak emphasized the significance of this collaboration in nurturing the creative landscape and fostering local talent.
The forthcoming institute in Riyadh, accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, will offer comprehensive three-year advanced diploma programs. These specialized courses cover a range of topics such as Fashion Design, Fashion Management, Fashion Products, Fashion Styling & Creative Direction, as well as the management of Fragrances & Cosmetics and Interior Design. Students will have the flexibility to pursue their studies in Riyadh, with the option of engaging in a six-month internship during the final year, or opt for completing a bachelor’s degree at any of Istituto Marangoni's international campuses.
