To make your LinkedIn profile stronger, you should take some hints from the best. Look through their profiles and note the things that stand out to you. The first thing you’ll notice is that they all have professional photos. Dress professionally, get a photographer to take the shots, and smile!

Fix your headline. It automatically has your current job title and company, but you can make it a little more interesting – particularly if you’re looking for work or don’t have a particularly high position in your company.

If you want to stand a chance, fill out your profile. Volunteer experience, education, and everything else – just make sure you’re only including relevant information. LinkedIn guides you through the process, so it shouldn’t be too difficult. You can even add documents and photos to your profile so it will double as a portfolio.

Engage with posts that are relevant to your field. Post statuses that show your knowledge of the field and comment on other users’ posts.

Add your links and contact information. Interested employers will want to email or call you, so make sure your updated information is on your profile, and you link to your portfolio or any other work-related sites you maintain.
