Jude Al-Harthi
Jude Al-Harthi, a female lawyer from Saudi Arabia, has been chosen as this year’s Young Arab Business Ambassador as part of the launch of initiatives by the Arab British Chamber of Commerce.
During a gala dinner that was held in London, Al-Harthi gave a speech in the presence of Arab ambassadors, diplomats, officials of the British government, and corporate representatives from the business and financial communities in Britain and the Arab world.
Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaiby, CEO and Secretary General of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce, inaugurated the event, welcomed the guests, and delivered an inspiring speech regarding the youth initiative.
During her speech, Al-Harthi focused on the importance of creating opportunities for today’s youth through partnerships between young entrepreneurs and innovators in both the Arab region and Britain. She particularly highlighted the significant potential of Arab youth and the necessity to provide them with the right support and encouragement in order for them to succeed in their endeavors and transform their vision into reality.
“This is an opportunity to develop an active global space to invest in the energies of young people in both the Arab countries and Britain, and to open the doors for them to exchange their ideas and enrich their partnerships on both the intellectual and business levels,” she said.
She also pointed to the need to set global partnership opportunities as a key objective, allowing Arab and British businesses to benefit from the skills, drive, and potential of the youth in today’s global economy.
Previously a Representative of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) to the United Nations International Conference in Geneva, Al-Harthi noted that the larger aim of this youth initiate is to empower young people. She emphasized that the Young Arab-British Chamber will open up new horizons, enabling young Arabs to not only make a positive difference and enhance cooperation between the United Kingdom and the Arab world, but to provide a platform to aid youth in establishing their businesses.
Other speakers at the event included the Chairman of Board of Trustees of King Abdulaziz Center for National Dialogue, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Sabeel, Arab League Ambassador Ibrahim Mohi-Eddin, the British Government's Special Representative for Saudi- British Education Affairs, and Sir Anthony Seldon, Vice-Chancellor of The University of Buckingham.
The Young Arab British Chamber is an initiative of the Arab British Chamber of Commerce that seeks to transform the ambitions of Arab youth into successful endeavors. It comes as a result of Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s recent tour of the United Kingdom in March 2018, where the main themes of the visit focused on education and youth support.
