Organzing committee of the exhibition talking about the event in a press conference in Riyadh
In line with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which amongst its key objectives looks to support the increased empowerment of women in the Kingdom, the seventh edition of the Dakakeen Al-Shita’a charity exhibition launched week. The charity exhibition took place in Riyadh under the theme “Your Generosity is Our Support,” from December 17 to 20, under the patronage of Princess Adela Bint Abdullah, chair of Sanad Charitable Society for the Support of Children with Cancer.
Reem Bint Saleh Al-Hujailan, who is director general of the Association, stressed that Dakakeen Al-Shita’a is an important resource for the association that enables it to fulfill its “obligations toward children in need and their families who tend to them and improve the quality of services provided.” She also went on to explain that the 2018 edition of Dakakeen Al-Shita’a has been envisioned as a project that will help secure significant financial resources, noting that the charity exhibition provides a great opportunity for the association to spread its core message and gain the support of society, especially by Saudi Arabian businesswomen.
According to Wafaa Bint Abdullah Al-Rasheed, founder of Dakakeen, this year’s edition was not only within the framework of enhancing women’s role in the national economy in line with Vision 2030, it is also an important contributing factor for supporting Saudi Arabian female entrepreneurs in various fields across the country.
Dakakeen Al-Shita’a 2018 was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh, its opening day was on December 17 from 5 PM to 10 PM. This seventh edition was set to have more than 130 attendees including participants from the Kingdom, other Gulf states, and outside the region, giving the event a positive outlook both locally and globally.
Many creative designers, from those who focus on jewelry, to art, to home furnishings, also participated in Dakakeen Al-Shita’a 2018, and for the first time ever, a new field was added to the event where three prestigious brands participated in the automotive sector to support female leadership.
