The Pyramids of Giza are one of the Seven Wonder of the World and will also this year, host one of the most iconic bands, The Red Hot Chili Peppers who are set to perform there this March.
Performing their greatest hits at Egypt’s iconic historical landmark, this concert will mark The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ first ever performance in the country.
The Grammy award winning rock band are most famous for their hit songs, Californication and Zephyr and took to Twitter to share the exciting news of their forthcoming performance at the Pyramids of Giza with a short video of a compilation of some of their previous concerts. The band’s bassist, Michael Balzary, aka Flea, also shared his delight about the concert on his Instagram page with the caption, “My heart is abuzz with joy at the prospect of performing in Egypt. I’m so grateful and humbled for the impending experience.”

The band will be ending their two- year-long world tour in Egypt with this major performance at the ancient landmark, on which they promoted their 11th album, The Gateway, which was released in 2016. This tour saw them perform their hits in Amsterdam, Spain, Mexico, and Germany, to name just a few!
The Pyramids of Giza aren’t hosting a rock concert for the first time, in fact, many incredible international music icons have graced the stage, where Pharaohs once roamed, including, Frank Sinatra, Pink Floyd, who performed there 3 times – in 1970, 1971 and 1978, Shakira, The Grateful Dead – who held 3 shows at the foot of the Sphynx, Mariah Carey and Kylie Minogue.
