More than 600 photos of pets were submitted to the PetSavers annual contest, and the results have us melting over and over again.
PetSavers is a charity which is part of the British Small Animal Veterinary Association. It was founded by a group of veterinary surgeons in 1974 and to this day forward is run by passionate and dedicated vets and vet nurses.
A spokeswoman from PetSavers said: "We were thrilled to receive so many amazing photos this year, it was hard to choose the winners from such an amazing selection. Melting Moments was a popular theme and all images we received captured the essence of the unique loving relationship we have with our pets."
This year's contest was for amateur photographers that love to take pictures of their pets at special moments.
"Cassie is our rescue and is a Staffie x Boxer. She was in shelters for the majority of her younger years and was moved from Coventry to Bristol as she kept getting overlooked,” said Yvette Roberts who won the first place, “We are so happy we found her and could finally give her the forever home she deserved. She is the sweetest and kindest dog who just wants love and affection.”
Vanessa Murphy was awarded the second prize for her beagles; Bruce, Denzil, Gracie and Lily. "I took this on a walk yesterday and l thought it was one of the best photographs l have ever taken of them,” she said, “Rapt concentration on their dad, waiting for him to call them. Their expressions are everything a beagle should have.”
For the Junior category, Noemie Lavedan came in first place for her picture of her Old English Sheepdog, Flash, sleeping on the sofa.
