Egyptian Swimmer Farida Othman Wins Gold at the 2019 TYR Pro Swim Series, USA

Egyptian swimmer Farida Othman was awarded the first place in the 50m Butterfly at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Richmond, Virginia.

The athlete set a new record of 25.65s that broke the estimated 25.74s record of her fellow swimmer Kelsey Dalia. During the event, which took place from 10^th of April until the 15^th, Fareeda also managed to score the 50m freestyle silver medal and the 100m butterfly bronze medal under her belt.

“I am so overwhelmed by all the love and support I have received over the past few days. Egypt is always in my heart," she excitedly after cultivating the victory.

“Egyptian swimmers have won seven swimming medals and you can’t not but be proud of this team," said Farida. The female swimming dynamo talked about how she organizes her time and balances university duties and training. Her secret? Sleep. She emphasized how important it was for her, “I need to sleep 8 hours, if I don’t sleep I don’t know how to get through the day.”

The Egyptian swimmer also talked about how she hoped that her countrywomen and men would have a place in the Tokyo 2020 tournament.
