Still undecided on where your family vacation for Eid al-Fitr is going to be at? Here’s a couple of our favourite places around the world:
Bolivia
Travelers often choose Bolivia as a destination for an enjoyable family holiday all year round due to the cool activities and amazing tourist attractions. We recommend visiting:
Salar de Uyuni: The world's largest salt plateau is located at the top of the Andes in southwestern Bolivia at 3,656 meters above sea level covering an area of 10,582 square kilometers. Salar de Oyuni was the result of the lakes’ evolution during prehistoric times. Tourists flock to visit the impressive structures scattered all around the place, made of mudbricks and salt.
Salar de Uyuni
Madidi National Park: This park extends from the Andes to the Amazon, with an area of 19,000 square kilometers, and a height of up to 6,000 meters above sea level. Madidi is one of the most biologically diverse parks in the world with more than 1,000 species of birds. It has two seasons: rain from November to March and drought from April to October.
Lima
Lima is a family-run tourist destination that combines historic fascinations and modern-day activities. The stunning destination is the capital to Peru and home to the ancient Aztec cultures that lived before the Spanish reached its shores.
Miraflores: Overlooking the Pacific Ocean, this well-to-do district is located in the Lima province. The place is very well-known for all kinds of fun activities like parasailing, surfing, and other beach-related doings. The site also offers upscale shopping centers and a sneak-peak into the beautiful and raw Peruvian art scene.
Paragliding in Miraflores
The Plaza Mayor: Also known as Plaza de Armas of Lima, the heart of the city is located in its historic district. The Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro chose the site in 1535. Although there is not one single building that dates back to the that time, a majestic bronze fountain built in 1650 was erected in the square. The plaza is surrounded by religious edifice and numerous other historic palaces, including the Archbishop's Palace of Lima, locally known as Palacio Arzobispal.
Sion
A visit to Switzerland is not complete without a trip to the city of Sion, the capital of the province of Valais. This small town is an ideal destination for exploring any season in the exquisite Valais. Sion is a tourist attraction for the hardcore nature and adventure-loving families.
St. Léonard Underground Lake: Located along the Rhône valley between Sion and Sierre, the 300 meters long lake is the largest natural lake in Europe and can be reached by boat. The tour does not take more than half an hour, and allows the sight access to some of the most beautiful and serene scenery in the country. You’re allowed to take pictures, but you can’t swim.
Adventure Park: This park is located in Zell, and is an ideal destination for the adrenaline-rush addicts. The available amenities are not only daring, but children can also participate in a number of age-appropriate and entertaining activities there. There exists a separate picnic area on the premise, where you can enjoy a hearty lunch after a day of fooling around.
