Jeddah Season is almost up and during the phenomenal cultural festival, attendees got to catch their favourite K-Pop band, Super Junior, whose tickets for their debut in Saudi sold out within a matter of minutes and crashed the festival’s website.
Hot on their heels, another popular South Korean band, BTS (Bangtan Sonyeondan), who have announced that they will be heading over to Saudi Arabia for their first concert in the Middle East.
BTS will perform as part of Riyadh Season, which will see them take the stage at the renowned King Fahd International Stadium later this year. Set to take place on the 11th of October, BTS’s performance will be one of their “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” world tour.
The band had originally launched in 2013 and have established themselves within the international music industry in a major way with their hit songs including Mic Drop and Spring Day. The group of 7 write and produce their own music with their songs relating to mental health, self-care and sometimes current affairs. BTS also recently made waves as they became the first ever Korean pop band to perform at the Grammy Awards this year.
Not their first time in the Middle East, the K-pop phenomenon visited Dubai in 2016 as they filmed their annual summer vlog, which they called “Summer Package Dubai”, and not only are they popular and influential in the Arab region, they also have a star of their name on Dubai’s “Walk of Fame”.
