Saudi businesswoman Basmah Omair, Chief Executive Director of Alsayedah Khadijah Bint Khuwailid Lobbying Center, took part in the Women20 Summit in Berlin last week, being the only Saudi among prominent female personalities in the world.
W20 Summit is an initiative by the G20 Summit led by women leaders of 20 countries. The main goal of W20 is to promote women’s economic empowerment as an integral part of the G20 process.
The two-day summit focused on four different pillars namely Labor Market Inclusion, Financial Inclusion, Digital Inclusion and Strengthening the W20.
The participation of Omair in the summit was to enhance the role of the woman in the economy. For her part, Omair delivered a presentation on Labour Market Inclusion, where she discussed how to meet resistance when introducing change.
Some of the prominent women who participated in the summit included German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Queen Maxima of the Netherlands, Ivanka Trump –First Daughter and Advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland and several others.
