Jennifer Lopez may just be having one of the best years of her life. The multi-hyphenate has headlined her It’s My Party tour to celebrate her 50th birthday, caused an Internet meltdown after closing the Versace show, announced she’s taking the stage by storm with Shakira during the 2020 Super Bowl halftime and is getting an Oscar buzz about her new movie Hustlers.
Plus, the superstar has just added new global face of Coach to her burgeoning resume. Lopez will be starring in the brand’s leather goods, ready-to-wear and footwear campaigns, beginning with the spring 2020 season.
“I’m so excited for this collaboration with Coach,” the award-winning actress, singer, producer and entertainer shared in a statement. “It is a timeless brand that I’ve always been a fan of and the upcoming collection really speaks to my personal style - an uptown downtown mix.”
Lopez’s music video for her 2002 hit All I Have is proof of her love for the fashion house. She donned several of Coach’s Signature bags in the video, which was shot in New York. Engaged to Alex Rodriguez, Lopez also announced the exciting collaboration on Instagram. She shared a stunning black-and-white photo showing off an on-trend long leather trench coat, flowing patterned scarf and, yes, a Coach bag.
The folks at Coach posted the same picture of the stunning Lopez, who had her hair down and heavy make-up on. Stuart Vevers, Coach’s Creative Director, has also explained why the Jenny from the Blocksinger is the perfect spokesperson for the luxury brand.
“Jennifer is so authentic. She’s determined and she’s an original who has followed her own path to do things her own way - she really embodies the attitude of Coach and our new campaign,” He added the pop icon is from New York, where Coach is based, “which creates another authentic connection with our heritage, and I’m particularly excited about bringing Jennifer and Juergen Teller together.” The famed photographer will shoot the spring 2020 campaigns.
As the new face of Coach, Lopez joins other female ambassadors like Yara Shaidi, Selena Gomez and Chloe Grace Moretz, who all just happen to be about half her age.
