They say a leopard never changes its spots – and rightly so when it comes to Italian fashion house, Dolce & Gabbana who are renowned for their leopard print styles, as well as the brand’s Dubai clientele who can’t get enough of it. To pay tribute to their most loved and loyal customers here in the Middle East, the luxury label has just launched a ready to wear collection for both men and women, exclusively at their Dubai Mall store. Staying to true to their Italian aesthetic, the capsule collection has an ath-leisure feel, comprised of the infamous leopard print and gold embellishments to compliment it.
Clients can expect silky jogging and sweatshirt sets with D&G’s infamous logo on them, along with tank tops and shorts, each paired with sneakers, belt bags, and hats featuring the same patterns and embellishments, ensuring a statement, yet signature look. Dolce & Gabbana is a brand that has maintained an exceptionally close relationship with the Arab market over the past few years – especially since launching their first Ramadan collection in January 2016, featuring hijabs, abayas and a makeup line aimed at Arab women.
The much loved designers, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, also debuted a 127 look runway show in the winter of 2018, at Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue. The show paid tribute to the fashion house’s Middle Eastern influences, and have since made it a tradition to understand and respect their Arab clients’ cultural norms by implementing traditional clothing into their seasonal collections.
Speaking to a local publication, Stefano Gabbana stated, “Coming to Dubai is not just a holiday trip. We want to make the world understand what Dolce & Gabbana is, and offer a personal experience to this region. This allows us to have a real conversation with people and understand our clients better. When we do a show in Mexico City or Tokyo, we always include elements of the local culture. We don’t want to colonize anyone.”
With Domenico Dolce also stating, “It is our obligation as guests. Today, with globalization, all is the same. So why would we come to Dubai if it is not to embrace the emirate? If someone were to come to my village to make a tribute, I would say thank you!”
