Last year, Saudi Arabia’s historic town of Diriyah hosted some of the Kingdom’s most-anticipated events, as part of Saudia Ad Diriyah E Prix, bringing crowds from across the Kingdom and beyond to enjoy performances by Enrique Iglesias, Jason Derulo, The Black Eyed Peas, Amr Diab, DJ David Guetta, and OneRepublic. This year, another key cultural event was hosted in the region with a superstar lineup that made headlines.
Usher
World-renowned artists Usher, Chris Brown and Akon gave incredible performances this week at the Diriyah Musical Festival to the delight of devoted fans. The festival complemented the sports events of the month-long Diriyah Season and The Clash On The Dunes, a heavyweight title boxing event.
Diriyah Season is on until December 22, offering visitors an unmissable set of international sports and entertainment events careering, from sports fanatics and entertainment seekers, to foodies and shoppers, all in the heart of one of Saudi Arabia’s UNESCO heritage sights and the birth place of the Kingdom.

The music festival runs until the 14th of December, with concerts by Calvin Harris, Major Lazer, and Swedish House Mafia still scheduled. In addition to these performances, other events such as Diriyah Equestrian Festival and Diriyah Tennis Cup are also planned.
Over the years, Saudi Arabia has been working on opening its doors to tourists from around the world, aiming to be one of the most attractive countries for tourism by banking on its location, its unique tourist and historic elements, and its welcoming people.
Akon
As part pf its efforts, the Kingdom has been working on increasing its entertainment and cultural offerings in key locations such as Diriyah, which will soon also host the Saudi Museum of Modern Art in the town’s Bujairi neighborhood. This landmark project, as well as the program of cultural events currently taking place in Diriyah, are seen as part of developing the town “as a cultural, recreational, and tourism center.”
