Al-Ghamdi has been nicknamed, “The Shawarma Seller” ever since. She came back to the Kingdom after completing her master’s degree in Nano technology to treat cancer patients, a disease which killed her mother. She did not lose hope even in the face of this adversity, as she set up a stall to sell shawarmas on a beach in the country's eastern province.

Recently, Al-Ghamidi was invited by the Directorate of Civil Defense in Dubai to participate in the 7th Annual Fire Safety Technology Forum 2017, where she spoke about advancing nano technology for the GCC in the safety, medical and industrial sectors and beyond
Speaking about the event, she pointed out that the forum was very rich in knowledge. She hopes that technology will have a big echo in the Gulf States, because it can make important changes, according to agencies.
Al-Ghamdi began her career with a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry as a science teacher in Saudi Arabia in 2008. She also obtained a diploma in English at University of Victoria in Canada in 2013 after which she turned her focus on science and nano technology in particular.
