This Kuwaiti Brand’s Accessories Are Spectacular Handmade Luxury Art Forms

Helmed by siblings Fahad and Shouq Al-Marzooq, boundary-pushing Marzook is anything but understated.

With its signature gem-coated and embellished accessories, Kuwaiti luxury label Marzook is all about pushing the boat out. Founded by fashionable siblings Fahad and Shouq Al-Marzooq, the Beirut-based brand seems to be made for fashion lovers who start trends, rather than copy them, making it the perfect option for celebrities.

The brother-sister duo’s "Crystal Orb" bag was thrust into the limelight and sold out quickly soon after Kylie Jenner wore a pink version to match her sparkling custom-made LaBourjoisie jumpsuit on her 21st birthday. Ariana Grande also celebrated a birthday carrying a bag by the brand that was established in 2014. To accessorise her sleek black satin ensemble by Danielle Guizio, the pop superstar donned black bunny ears and a mini "Orb" bag by Marzook, which had Swarovski crystals dotted over the top half, while the bottom was decorated with black feathers. Another big moment for Marzook, which has also been spotted on Bebe Rexha, Karlie Kloss, Kelly Rowland and Priyanka Chopra, was a collaboration with Sofia Richie. She worked with the Kuwaitis to create a neon-themed line of handbags. The partnership with Lionel Richie’s youngest daughter featured Marzook’s unfailing favourite, the round-shaped "Lucid Orb" bag, in a new set of bright shades, Powerful Pink, Neon- Z Green and Traffic Cone Orange, which the model and socialite sported during New York Fashion Week in September 2018.

“When you’re one of social media’s most popular style stars, your style influence is extremely crucial.  Sofia’s style is very much aligned with the Marzook girl, who rather than follows trends, creates trends,” the team stated on its website.

At first, the siblings with a passion for art and design, who were raised between Europe, the US and Kuwait, started designing pieces for their family and close friends. Shouq, who is the CEO, and Fahad, the Creative Director, quickly started attracting attention around the world. With such a multi-cultural upbringing, the designers, known for including exotic leather and skins, precious metals, Plexiglas® resins and Swarovski crystals in their pieces, are understandably inspired by fashion from all around the world. Their fashion-conscious mother, art, architecture, and nature have also been big influences on the shapes, styles and colours they choose.
