The Kingdom is abuzz with preparations for next month’s Saudi Ladies International, a Ladies European Tour (LET) sanctioned event. The inaugural professional women’s golf event will see top female golfers playing competitively in the country for the first time. And in even more great news, members of the public are being invited to write their names into the history books by volunteering for the exciting event taking place March 19_22 at Jeddah’s pristine Royal Greens Golf & Country Club in King Abdullah Economic City.

Online registration is open for the debut tournament’s Volunteers’ Programme, which is looking to recruit hundreds of people to help with the smooth running of the four-day competition. Helpers will have the chance to get inside the ropes and up close with fan-favourite female golfers, including Order of Merit winner Beth Allen, three-time LET winner Carly Booth and Solheim Cup hero Azahara Munoz. They will also get a unique insight into this world-class sporting event.
A volunteer briefing session is happening before the event, and helpers will receive an exclusive tournament uniform to wear throughout the week. Marshals, which include Travelling, Static, Crossing and Transitional positions, will be required for the duration of the tournament. Other roles volunteers can take on include mobile scoreboard operators and walking scorers.
“Being the first year of this event, we are offering potential volunteers a fantastic opportunity to be part of history, working at the first-ever professional women’s golf event to be held in the country. The volunteers, from both Saudi Arabia and abroad, will play a key role in helping us deliver a successful inaugural tournament,” Mike Oliver, Event Director at tournament hosts Golf Saudi, said. “To those joining us for this year’s tournament, I look forward to welcoming you all in March.”

Helpers will be provided with all food and beverage while on site and will receive a Certificate of Service once the tournament is over so they can remember the occasion. Plus, they will get photo opportunities with the 2020 winner during the prize presentation. The 72-hole event is offering a prize fund of $1million, one of the most significant payouts on the LET. LET, which operates tournaments across six continents, has been celebrating women’s golf on a global stage since 1978.
