One such figure is Dr. May Al-Khunaizi, the CEO of Saudi German Hospitals (SGH) in Damman, the Regional Director of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and a Consultant for Joint Commission International.
With an impressive 25 years of neonatology and hospital administration experience, and over ten years of leadership and management experience, Dr. Al-Khunaizi is a trailblazer and role model to many women within her sector and beyond. Throughout her long and inspiring career, Dr. Al-Khunaizi as served in various senior management positions in health care systems, such as a chief operating officer, a director of training and development, a deputy chief medical officer, and an executive director.

Under her solid leadership as Executive Director of SAAD Specialist Hospital, the institution was re-accredited by Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA), Accreditation Canada, and the Australian Council, and as a JCI consultant, she has conducted consultations and educational programs in the Middle East and Asia. She also has extensive expertise in hospital, ambulatory care, and performance improvement consulting.
Dr. Al-Khunaizi has a Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship and completed a training on Clinical Molecular Genetics, both at Harvard Medical School. She also holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honors from King Faisal University College of Medicine and Medical Sciences in Dammam, and is a certified Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award examiner.
