The Red Sea International Film Festival just announced that it will issue a fund of SR200,000 ($53,283) as emergency community relief grants to support struggling Saudi filmmakers.
Amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, Saudi freelance filmmakers are coping hard financially due to projects cancelled or postponed because of the necessary precautionary measures against the pandemic. The Red Sea International Film Festival, one of the most anticipated festivals in MENA, was also postponed earlier this month.
