Queen Elizabeth II who has been a reigning monarch for 68 years, released a statement this month, whilst London went into total shutdown to contain the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her message, she addressed the current state of affairs, saying, “We are all being advised to change our normal routines and regular patterns of life for the greater good of the communities we live in and, in particular, to protect the most vulnerable within them.” Adding that, “At times such as these, I am reminded that our nation’s history has been forged by people and communities coming together to work as one, concentrating our combined efforts with a focus on the common goal.”

It has been reported that Her Majesty is preparing to give a special address to Britain from Windsor Castle, where she will be staying with her husband, the Duke of Edinburgh, as a “sensible precaution,” to stay safe from the virus.
The Queen's upcoming speech will be her fourth televised one in her entire reign, with the exception of her annual Christmas speech.
The last three times she addressed the public were in 1991 during the Gulf War, in 1997 following the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, and in 2002 following the death of her mother.

Buckingham Palace have not yet announced the date of the Queen’s speech, but we can expect it in the next few weeks.
During her isolation at Windsor castle, the Queen is not exempt from government orders as she remains active in her role as reigning monarch via iPad and Facetime, where she engages with those battling the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Charles, Prince of Wales and Camilla Duchess of Cornwall are also social-distancing at their property, Birkhall in Scotland, William and Kate, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge remain at Anmer Hall in Norfolk and Harry and Meghan, Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in Canada on Vancouver Island, staying safe.
