Fashion Trust Arabia is known for providing financial and business aid as well as international recognition to the dynamic designers in the MENA region. Now, the non-profit organisation has gone one step further in showing its ongoing support for Arab talent with its #StandWithCreatives campaign, which seeks to spread awareness and promote business within the region’s creative industry during these uncertain times. The digital movement is a way to shed light on tastemakers and designers, giving them the exposure and recognition they deserve.
“It is our responsibility now, more than ever, to continue to support and highlight creativity,” reads a statement by the organisation, which is helping designers who have been impacted by COVID-19 through a #StandWithCreatives Fund.
“We can liken the MENA region to a volcano of creativity, erupting with designers, artists, musicians, photographers and storytellers. All of which are ready to take the product of the rich history they carry in their DNA and channel it out for the world to receive.”
Major regional fashion designers like Elie Saab and Rami Kadi are banding together thanks to the beautiful initiative to promote diverse creativity in the MENA region. Accessory and jewellery designers, including the award-winning, third generation fine jewellers The Mukhi Sisters and bag and shoe designers Roula Bahnam and Andrea Wazen are also getting involved. Some of the region’s biggest stars, including Elissa, Salma Abu Deif and Lara Scandar, and influencers like Ghina Ghandour, Nathalie Fanj, Jessica Kahawaty, and Lana El Sahely, have also posted about their support.
“During these difficult times, it is important for us to find ways to connect and support each other. Today, more than ever, I fully #StandWithCreatives to promote the diverse creativity of our #MENA region.
“Being a lover and proud supporter of every talent emerging from our beautiful region for the past 10 years, I believe we must do everything in our hands to keep this incredible creativity going,” El Sahely wrote on Instagram.
Fashion Trust Arabia is encouraging everyone to post photos of themselves wearing the work of a regional designer on their Instagram profiles or stories with the hashtag#StandWithCreatives. And by inviting others to join, you will keep the momentum going.
