A Chinese medical team of eight experts landed in Riyadh on April 16 to join forces with Saudi medical authorities in the fight against coronavirus disease.
Coming from Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Autonomous Region, the doctors will cooperate and exchange expertise and information with Saudi doctors and researchers.
Upon the experts' arrival in Riyadh, the Chinese Ambassador to Riyadh, Chen Weiqing, said that since the pandemic started, China and Saudi Arabia proved to be a model of state-to-state relations and international cooperation in the face of the pandemic.
Saudi Arabia signed 6 contracts to medically assist China as it combat coronavirus. China thanked Saudi Arabia for providing help and support after the outbreak of the coronavirus in China, and is paying close attention to the pandemic in the Kingdom, the Chinese envoy said, according to Asharq Al Awsat report.
China praised the Kingdom’s effective measures taken to contain the virus' spread and safeguard public health.
"We believe that with the joint efforts of China and Saudi Arabia and the international community, we will surely overcome the crisis," Chen added.
