The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will conduct 9 million tests for the coronavirus disease after signing a deal with China on Sunday. As of April 26th, Saudi Arabia recorded 17,522 cases of infection and 139 deaths, according to Asharq Al Awsat newspaper.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, KSrelief, signed the contract with China, which is worth worth 995 million Saudi riyals or $264 millions/ All the funds are targeted at completing 9 million COVID-19 tests six laboratories to be set up across the Kingdom. The Saudi medical team will be joined by 500 Chinese, which will provide training for Saudi staff and audit.

A Chinese medical team of eight experts had first landed in Riyadh on April 16 to join forces with Saudi medical authorities in the fight against coronavirus disease. Coming from Yinchuan, the capital of Ningxia Autonomous Region, the doctors came to cooperate and exchange expertise and information with Saudi doctors and researchers. Upon their arrival to the capital, the Chinese Ambassador to Riyadh, Chen Weiqing, said that China and Saudi Arabia proved to be a model of state-to-state relations and international cooperation in the face of the pandemic.
