UAE President HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai and HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, have all come together to congratulate a team of researchers who may have just had a breakthrough moment in the development of a treatment for COVID-19.
A stem-cell treatment has been developed by a team of doctors and researchers in the UAE at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Center (ADSCC).
The treatment, which is still in its development stages, involves the extraction of stem cells from the blood of someone who has the coronavirus, and reintroducing those cells after they have been activated.
