Sayidaty magazine held its annual suhoor on Monday at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah announcing its Ramadan campaign, ‘Baader Bil Kheir’ (Good Deeds Initiative).
The objective of the campaign is to recognize other community and humanitarian initiatives, while creating awareness of volunteerism in society. The campaign is in correspondence with the ‘Year of Giving 2017’ launched by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, in an effort to underscore the importance of humanitarian work.
The occasion was attended by prominent Emariti and Arab personalities including media figures, artists and social media influencers.
In his welcome address, Sayidaty and Abouther.com Editor-in-Chief, Mohammad Fahad Al-Harthi, stressed on the importance of being charitable, which has surpassed its traditional meaning of donations, education and kind assistance. "We have increasing interaction from different Arab cities as the campaign has been linked with goodwill and humanitarian projects, which include projects like financing the teaching of children in need and providing opportunities for the youth," he said.
He pointed out that Sayidaty is continuing to succeed in covering different areas of interest including tackling social issues through campaigns. Over the years, the magazine has carried out reports involving family violence, underage marriages, obesity and its dangers, campaigns to protect the Arabic language and many more.
"These campaigns have been part of our corporate social responsibility role," he added.
Al-Harthi also announced the coming launch of its recent initiative, AboutHer.com, in French and Spanish languages.
As a token of appreciation, Al-Harithi presented awards to prominent personalities present at the occasion including Ayman Al-Baya - IIMSAM Goodwill Ambassador, Mariam Othman - Director of Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre, the Ghayath Volunteer Team and the Community Responsibility Section at the Dubai Customs represented by Fouad Al Shihi, Maysoon Narash, Rasha Al Motaweh of the ‘Unleash the Entrepreneur Within You’ initiative, writer Jamal Al Shihi - Director-General of the UAE Prize for the Novel and Fathi Jaber Afanah - Ambassador of the Arab Family Organization 2017 and Goodwill Ambassador to the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
Other proceeding of the evening included presentations on the humanitarian sketches by students from the Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre for the Disabled, Sayidaty’s ‘Baader Bil Kheir’ initiative and ‘Their Future is Safe’ initiative.
Mariam Othman, Director of Rashid Pediatric Therapy Centre, honored Al-Harthi in a special gesture to strengthen cooperation between them on the humanitarian, community and media levels.
