Nancy Ajram was one of the latest Arab singers to perform a virtual concert with the aim of lifting people’s spirits through music. The concert, which took place May 26 during the recent Eid al-Fitr holiday, was streamed exclusively in real time on the Lebanese superstar’s YouTube channel. The intimate Hope Beyond Borders event was held without an audience and with a minimal amount of band members.
“The world as we know it is changing yet again but we’re ready to stand through much more, knowing that we’re all in this together. We may be separated by borders, but we’re one strong, beating heart,” Ajram shared in a voiceover recorded for the concert, which she staged on a cosily decorated Beirut rooftop. “Let’s hope for a better tomorrow, let’s hold on tight to our loved ones, whether near or far, and let’s continue appreciating what we have knowing that someone, somewhere, is even more in need than we are. Kindness and love will always conquer all. Together we can create a more humane world.”
The pop star known for infusing her performances with fun and escapism kicked off the concert that lasted just over 20 minutes with one of her newest songs, Albi Ya Albi. The numerous viewers enjoying the musical treat also got to see Ajram deliver reworked versions of some of her greatest hits. These included Betfakar Fi Eih and Badna Nwalee El Jaw. The 37-year-old, who is also a television judge and businesswoman, belted out 3am Bet3alla2 Feek, Helm El Banat,El DoniaHelwa, Ma TegiHenaand YaGhalitoo.
A casual look was in order for the concert organised in collaboration with Believe Music Company, Ajram’s digital distributor, and YouTube. Ajram opted for a sleeveless white top with wide-leg jeans from Rag & Bone. And the mother-of-two accessorised it with white sandals and minimalist jewellery.

Ajram has millions of fans all around the world, including, it seems, Grammy award-winning artist Billie Eilish. During her second podcast for her “Me &Dad Radio” show on Apple Music, Eilish revealed she loved Ajram, played her 2013 song Fi Hagatand said she used to listen to it continuously. “The way she sings is so crazy. I think that the way that Arabic music sounds is just like melted chocolate in my ears not not literally, but I love song and I love the melodies and I love the way that she sings,” the 18-year-old international sensation said. She also touched on one of Ajram’s other songs, Enta Eih. And in true Ajram style, she returned the kindness. “We love you too Billie and we are big fans of your work!!! My girls are always playing your songs out loud in the house,” Ajram shared via an Instagram story.
