The launch of his new online store sees Hussein Bazaza marking a milestone in his career. To celebrate the introduction of the e-commerce site, the Lebanese designer has created a limited capsule collection known as "The Bombers Project." While various interpretations of the classic bomber jacket are at the heart of the project, there’s also a selection of T-shirts with slogans that highlight the importance of taking care of our mental health and ourselves.
Sold exclusively at husseinbazaza.com, with worldwide shipping, there are 24 different versions of the jacket that was initially worn by military pilots as they were best suited for chilly, cramped cockpits and has now become an ever-present style cornerstone. With revived signature Bazaza techniques or trademark prints, all the jackets come with the same oversized silhouette, along with a high collar, elasticated cuffed sleeves and slightly elasticated waistband. Each jacket has its own story, inspired by the brand’s past muses, whether from a collection that dates back to 2015 or the brand’s most recent one.
“In reusing our prints, we’re asking you to recycle your minds, your ideas, your morals, your hearts and everything you once believed in. Recycle them into a better state for the environment within you to be able to take care of the one around you,” the eponymous label known for skillfully deploying fabrics, creating silhouettes that perfectly complement women's figures and its one-of-a-kind statement pieces, explains on Instagram.
Bazaza has introduced one of the most popular outerwear garments in three categories. The embroidered bombers feature intricately detailed silk thread motifs, the printed bombers stand out with their statement artworks, while the cut bombers highlight signature details. What’s more, some are even reversible and can be worn two ways, either on the brand’s signature side or as a basic one-coloured piece with the other side peeking through.
Additionally, every bomber has a matching pair of shorts, which are the perfect addition to any summer wardrobe. Coming in a classic Bermuda style, they have a high-rise elasticated waist and loose fit over the legs. The only conundrum is whether to wear them with the jacket or individually.
As well as "The Bombers Project," the new platform offers a variety of tees with motivating slogans that instill self-belief as we face these trying times. With messages like “Sustain Yourself First,” “Sustain Your Values” and “Sustain Your Heart,” they raise awareness that nurturing our mental wellbeing and ourselves is a key priority.
The Beirut-based brand has revealed it will be creating two main autumn/winter and spring/summer collections per year, as well as capsule collections to be launched on the online store. Featuring limited and exclusive pieces for men and women, each capsule collection will shine the spotlight on one specific item, reinvented by the brand.
