The 15 Best-Dressed Stars at the 2017 Tony Awards

The stars certainly dressed to impress for Broadway’s big night.

Radio City Music Hall was brimming with action on 11 June while the year’s best achievements in Broadway productions were being recognised at the 71st Annual Tony Awards. Host Kevin Spacey, a Tony winner himself, did spot on Bill Clinton, Johnny Carson and Frank Underwood impersonations. Another high point was the “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert poking at President Trump. But the most talked about moment of the night probably belonged to "Hello, Dolly!" star and Best Actress in a Musical winner Bette Midler. In a super move, the multi-talented actress refused to go off stage when her acceptance speech for her first Tony ran a little long. Another big moment saw Sally Field, who was nominated for Best Actress in a Play, honouring Planned Parenthood as she wore a pin in support. Plus, Cynthia Nixon, who won Best Featured Actress in a Play, chose her acceptance speech as a moment to get political.

However, as fashion lovers, we’re bound to agree the best show of all was on the red carpet. Despite the balmy New York heat, stage and screen stars chose full-on dazzling sartorial creations to celebrate. Whether it was from actresses like Sarah Paulson and Anna Kendrick (we loved that floral print), or from models like Candice Swanepoel and Alek Wek (with her glittery dancing heels), there was an overload of glitz and glamour. Olivia Wilde in a Studio 54-inspired frock, a belted and tailored Scarlett Johansson and Chrissy Teigen’s white and gold geometric wonder were also some of the evening’s most noticeable fashion highlights.
