It’s only been a short while since Beyoncé gave birth to her twins, but we already miss the slaying styles she treated us to after she announced she was pregnant on 1 February.
When it came to dressing up for red carpet events, there are several unforgettable dresses Queen Bey divinely pulled off, showing women with child can dress as confidently as ever. Let’s start with the 2017 Grammy Awards, when the "Formation" singer performed an assortment of “Lemonade” songs. For her routine, she wore a gold Peter Dundas dress with sheer paneling, bell sleeves and elaborate beaded embroidery. What’s more, Beyoncé artfully teamed it with a matching headpiece reminiscent of a halo. Then, while sitting in the audience she wore a plunging, tight beaded scarlet dress by the same designer, accessorising it with that killer necklace. We would have really loved to present her two statuettes for Best Dressed in addition to the two accolades she received that night.
The 35-year-old, who went into labour early, also hit us with another red carpet knockout at the “Beauty and the Beast” premiere, when she was bedecked in a Gucci pleated emerald-green empire-waist gown. Beyoncé also made waves in a beautiful purple form-fitting, long-sleeved purple column gown she showed off on Instagram. Plus, of course, there was her intricate flower crown at the Wearable Art Gala, which she wore with curve-hugging red. Incidentally, the songstress had another major head wear moment when she was clad in a headdress for her African-inspired baby shower, paired with a tattoo design on her baby bump.
Looking for some inspiration that’s not related to red carpet invites? Rest assured there are many more casual looks the entertainment dynamo stunned in while waiting for five-year-old Blue Ivy’s little brother and sister. If flowing gowns are your go-to favourite in the heat, the floor length ruffled Dolce & Gabbana gown with a hydrangea print she wore is the ultimate inspirational piece. Alternatively, if you want some styling tips on how to wear ripped jeans, just remember how good they looked with a sheer black top, a Gucci kimono over a white tee, or a T-shirt saying how great it is to be pregnant. When it comes to black jeans, how swanky do they look with a floral-print blazer?
