If you’re hoping to make it as a face associated with the future of fashion and love Pretty Little Thing’s trend-led women’s fashion, we’ve got news for you. The decision-makers at the affordable e-tailer have launched a competition for young creatives that will help them use their voice through design at a time their long-established plans have been abruptly halted. The “Future of Fashion” competition provides a space of hope and purpose to reimagine and reinvent during such difficult times. What’s more, it gives the winner a platform to showcase that emerging talent on a global scale.
Up-and-coming designers are being encouraged to come up with a capsule collection of five to 10 designs. The winner, who will be announced on September 30, will then go on to see the victorious designs retailing on the popular online fashion brand that takes inspiration from the catwalk, celebrities and influencers.
Entrants have been asked to submit the designs in a PDF, with sketches showing a clear front and back view of each style. "Future of Fashion" hopefuls, who have until September 27 to submit their sketches, need to keep in mind the commercial designs should be seasonally relevant as the collection will launch live on the Pretty Little Thing site on February 1, 2021.
The designs will be judged by a panel of established Pretty Little Thing fashion creatives. Celebrity stylists Zack Tate and Jamie McFarland, known for styling iconic British girl band Little Mix, will also join as guest judges.
