Paris Fashion Week closed a month-long schedule of digital and physical shows across the world’s major fashion capitals. And our favourite designers really proved creativity can continue to thrive even when the going gets tough.
Highlights include the welcome dose of timeless black and white glamour during Chanel’s ode to classic cinema. Interspersed with splashes of bold colour, Virginie Viard’s tribute to the muses of the storied fashion house was presented with a Hollywood-style sign as a backdrop. Meanwhile, Louis Vuitton, another fabled house that closed Paris Fashion Week in spectacular style, welcomed a gender neutral future. Whether a metallic jumpsuit, black leather trousers with a white ribbed vest or a sweatshirt with a band of bright satin, as usual with Nicolas Ghesquière, it was all about the cut, with classic business and streetwear outfits given surprising twists.
What’s more, the changes to the structures and schedules of the Paris Fashion Week shows didn’t stop showgoers bringing their best street style in spades. With many designers choosing to show collections IRL, the limited number of mask-wearing guests made it clear personal style still reigns despite the virus. Whether it was street style regulars like Camille Charriere, Natalia Vodianova and Leonie Hanne or other super chic attendees, we spotted oodles of diversity in the prints, styles or accessories on the streets.
