With COVID-19 cases on the rise again we’re all in need of a bit of sparkle in our lives. Well, thanks to Insta-famous crystal artist Sara Shakeel and the Artleap by Lightricks photo editing app, we now have the perfect one tap solution. The new Artleap x Sara Shakeel collaboration is the perfect tool to create our very own fun and dreamy crystal art.
Sharing art during these trying times feels good to award-winning Shakeel. And she is encouraging us to “go crazy creative, and imagine the ordinary into something extraordinary” while using the Sparkling Art , Glow Sky and Crystal Wonderland features she created on the Artleap app.
Fans of the Pakistani trainee dentist-turned-crystal artist’s bedazzling work will be able to recreate her style to their hearts’ content, whether it’s gorgeous sparkling skies and moons or seas. Plus, there’s the option of adding some glistening magic to selfies, from Shakeel’s famous crystal tears to angelic halos.
Dubai-based Shakeel, who has been wowing with her signature crystal and glitter artwork for four years, took to Instagram, where she has over one million followers, to share the exciting news.
“Honestly I have always been bombarded with DMs asking me which apps I have been using to create my vision and sadly with no official app that could replicate my designs, I always wanted to create something for all the artists at heart out there,” she wrote. Shakeel is also encouraging budding creatives to use the hashtag #SaraShakeelxArtleap for a chance to feature on her page.
The artist, who has bedecked icons and A-listers like Audrey Hepburn, Rihanna and the Hadid sisters in twinkles, has collaborated with top names in fashion and beauty like “Vogue,” Reebok, Coach and LaMer in the past. Work by the creative, who has also turned foods, amenities and necessities like fries, toilet paper, baths and bananas into shimmering visions, has also been featured on various magazine covers.
While Shakeel’s attention-grabbing work provides distraction and oodles of feelgood sensations, she also makes sure to use her platform for important causes as well. She collaborated with Huda Beauty for the “Glittermarks” campaign that celebrated self-love in all skin colours, skin conditions and beyond. Additionally, she created artwork of front-liners in sparkly scrubs during the pandemic that garnered lots of praise. “Each picture heals a part of me and I hope it heals a part of you too,” she shares on Instagram.
