Her Excellency Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, who is the UAE’s Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, took to Instagram to share an image of herself receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
The UAE official also used her post to thank Ozma, a professional nurse from Lahore in Pakistan who has been working in the UAE for the last 18 years and was the one to administer the vaccine. Both Her Excellency Noura Al Kaabi and HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation shared the moment they received the vaccination on social media and used the hashtag “تم_التطعيم,” which translates to “vaccinated.”
A new development, the COVID-19 vaccine was given an emergency approval to be used on the healthcare workers fighting the virus. The vaccine has been developed by Sinopharm, a Chinese drug maker, as reported by news agency WAM. There are over 31,000 volunteers participating in the trial of the new drug, and has undergone intense testing within the last couple of months within the UAE and was given approval by the local government very recently.
The first official to receive the vaccine was the UAE’s Minister of Health and Prevention, Abdul Rahman Al Owais had shared the news that he had previously shared the news that it is completely “compatible with laws and regulations."
With the COVID-19 vaccine potentially becoming available to all soon, we may finally be seeing a silver lining, but until then, the vaccine is still under development.
