Wholesome story alert: this unique-looking Icelandic horse with a black head and white body is resting on a small patch of grass.
The stunning animal's multicoloured mane blows around in the wind as it looks around. The extremely rare horse was pictured in the remote and desolate region of Blaskogabyggd in Southern Iceland.
This breed first arrived in Iceland with Norse settlers in the 9th and 10th centuries. Amateur photographer Bragi Ingibergsson, who captured the pictures, said: "I think what I like best about these photographs is they show a beautiful, strong and proud animal, which is obviously enjoying his surroundings.
"The special colour combination also really adds to the overall picture."
The 58-year-old Lutheran minister, from Hafnarfjordur, in Reykjavik, added: "The horse seems very chilled out and although there are no wild horses in Iceland a lot of them live freely in wide open mountain areas."
