Scientists, researchers and developers have been hard at work all over the world to create an effective treatment that could combat the virus and Saudi Arabia may be the first country in the world to administer a vaccine.
The Kingdom’s The Assistant Deputy Minister For Preventive Health, Abdullah Al Assiri, told Saudia TV that Saudi Arabia has signed an agreement to receive early supplies of the various vaccines that are in their final stages of clinical trials, “Saudi Arabia will be one of the first countries to receive the vaccines,” he said.

In recent days, Saudi Arabia has seen a huge decrease in the number of cases of COVID-19, and an increase of daily recovery rates – and it has been reported that over 338,708 patients have recovered from the coronavirus, in the kingdom, to date.
Saudi Arabia’s willingness to administer successful COVID-19 treatments comes following the news that Moderna, Pfizer and BioNTech’s vaccine could be the solution to ending the pandemic. Despite this news, it must receive approval before it can be distributed.

The UAE has already started offering a vaccine developed by Chinese pharmaceutical company, Sinopharm, to the country’s government officials and frontline healthcare workers, as well as HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development HE Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, who recently took the vaccine and shared images of themselves getting it on their respective social media channels.
