One of the fashion world’s most celebrated icons, Diane von Furstenberg, has shaped the wardrobe for women all over the world since the 1970s with staples such as her iconic wrap dresses and bold signature prints.
The 73-year-old businesswoman and designer has partnered up with retail giant H&M on a collection of homeware incorporating her infamous prints. Expected to launch in stores in 2021, shoppers can look forward to some of DVF’s most vibrant prints in stunning colors across an array of home accessories including blankets, cushions, vases, and candles.
Speaking about the forthcoming launch, Furstenberg said, “I’m thrilled to be collaborating with H&M Home, especially since I have such a passion for interiors. The home is both a relaxing and empowering place where you can really ‘own’ a look or feel. With this collaboration, I want people to take charge of their home decor. The only rule I have is that your home should reflect who you are. The main point is to create a space that you’re incredibly comfortable in and is a true expression of your personality.”
This wouldn’t be the first time the Belgian designer has forayed into the world of interiors, as she has previously launched pieces for the home with her own eponymous brand – with each piece just as iconic as her fashion line. Diane once told Elle Décor, “Designing for the home has much in common with fashion. Both clothes and home decoration are ways of projecting yourself. Both need to be practical. An interior has to be inviting, reassuring, happy, and pleasant, but most important, it should be comfortable.”
The respected fashion designer is the mind behind some of the most loved trends in the world and designs collections to empower the woman wearing them. With a goal to inspire confidence in women all over the world, she said, “To inspire confidence is the best gift you can give anybody. This has become my flag. To give women confidence is what I would like to be remembered for…” And now, she will also be remembered daily by anyone who brings a piece of her H&M homes collaboration home…
