American social media intelligence and data company Brandwatch listed Lebanese starlet, Elissa, as one of the “50 Most Influential Figures On Twitter”.
Every year, Brandwatch ranks 50 of the most influential people on social media platform, Twitter, using data gathered from the app and Elissa was the only Arab in the ranking. It is the number of followers, tweets, retweets and mainly engagement with other Twitter users, from the popular Twitter users that determine their position on the list.

Taking to the social media platform she is influential on, Elissa tweeted, “So proud to be among all these great names around the world, politicians and artists, and the only Arab artist to be featured in the list. A great honor.”
Elissa has shared much of her personal life and struggles on social media and has been known to use Twitter to engage with her fans and followers whilst sharing important announcements and life achievements, as well as her life in her home country of Lebanon. Tweeting in Arabic, English and even Spanish at time, Elissa has amassed a Twitter following of 15 million.
The Lebanese music icon has maintained her reputation as one of the highest selling female artists in the Middle East since 2005, and being one of Lebanon’s biggest stars, she has been using Twitter to reach out to her fans and followers to raise funds for the repair of Beirut following the devastating explosion that took place at its ports in August 2020.
