It's the end of the year and that means new worldwide rankings are coming in! Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU) added another milestone that calls for celebration; the Saudi university jumped 59 places compared to last year in the UI Green Metric World University Rankings.
Ranking 79th on the global level, PNU earned itself the second place at the local level in the UI Green Metric 2020 and the fourth place in the Middle East, according to Saudi daily Arab News.
The annual ranking evaluates sustainability efforts on campuses and the development of eco-friendly infrastructures of 912 universities across 94 countries.
The criteria focus on infrastructure, energy, waste, water, transportation, and the level of the educational process.
PNU's successful leap validates its commitment to always meeting international environmental standards and to fostering an integrated healthy educational environment.
Under the realm of the Kingdom's Vision 2030, Riyadh-based university also took part in The Times Foundation’s “Impact Ranking” for sustainable development goals, which asserts it growing interest in achieving sustainability all across fields.
