After launching the first Misk Art Grant program, the Saudi Misk Art Institute has unveiled the artworks of the first five recipients, which are on show till the end of February.
Amidst the challenging year, the program supports creatives and aims to empower young people. Recipients can benefit from mentorship from top-industry experts and artists. The annual grant's theme is called “Settling" and it refers to the sense of stability emanating from familiar places until it is time to move on.

"Settling" taps into the surge of creativity people experienced during lockdown. The exhibition was showcased at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Fine Arts Hall in Riyadh along with the Misk Art Week. The show is centered around the five Saudi artists which received the Misk Art Grant.

Accorkding to Arab News, Misk Art Institute CEO Reem Al-Sultan said that the institute wants to create an artistic environment that helps to develop young creators, and is capable of inspiring the Saudi art scene, by providing a set of tools, programs and initiatives that support creative growth.
“The Misk Art Grant program is among the first art events held by the Misk Art Institute, as an extension of its important role in supporting artists and enriching the Saudi art scene,” she said.
“The institute continues its journey by launching initiatives at the local and international levels, including Art Week, an annual event awaited by the region’s art scene, along with training, education, fellowship programs and art exhibitions.”
