A few months ago, we had written about Dubai-based British painter, Sacha Jafri, who was getting to work to paint the world’s largest painting at the city’s iconic Atlantis The Palm hotel. He now takes home the Guinness World Record for “the Largest Art Canvas” entitled “The Journey Of Humanity.” Splayed across 17,000 square feet, the artwork seven months to finish, 20 hours per day, 1,065 paint brushes and 6,300 liters of paint to finish his masterpiece.

Following the completion of the painting of enormous proportions, “The Journey Of Humanity” was divided into 70 pieces and auctioned at the resort hotel in hopes to raise over $30 million for a highly charitable cause which supports young people all over the world that have been suffering at the hands of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking about his piece of art to Arab News, Jafri said, “It seems that we’ve become a little self-important as humans, and now there is an opportunity to unlearn everything we, as adults, thought we knew, and re-learn a new understanding of humanity, humility, empathy, and ultimately our re-engaged path ahead, through the souls of our children.”
The charity has helped over 2.5 billion people all over the world and counting. Shaddy Gaad, the senior marketing manager of the MENA region at Guinness World Records, said in a press statement, “The Largest Art Canvas is a record that we accepted by Sacha. We are confident that the humanitarian cause behind the achievement is one that will inspire people. We congratulate him and those involved in this extraordinary achievement and we are happy to declare them as Officially Amazing.”
The charities involved in the project with Sacha Jafri and Guinness World Record include UNICEF, the Global Gift Foundation, Dubai Cares, UNESCO and the UAE government.
