Located over 2,000 meters above sea level, Al Hada is a breathtaking mountain road in Saudi Arabia’s Taif region that is popular amongst travelers and tourists alike. Al Hada links Taif to vital destinations in the northern and western regions of the Kingdom, while offering picturesque views of Mecca and the surrounding mountain terrains. It is most notable for its wavy, spiral design, and the occasional twists and turns. In the evening, Al Hada beautifully complements the night scenery with street lights.

In the 1950s, the construction of Al Hada was initiated under the reign of King Abdulaziz, with His Majesty, King Abdullah, carrying out vital expansions in recent times. Today, travelers rely on Al Hada to reach major destinations such as Mecca, Jeddah, Arafat, and Taif.

At a high elevation, you can expect foggy conditions around the mountains and temperatures as low as 20 degrees Celsius. With favorable temperatures, farmers take advantage of fertile soils around Al Hada and plant some of the Kingdom's most popular produce such as apricots, pomegranates, and many others. Naturally, travelers stop by to buy these locally grown produce.

Al Hada is also a tourist destination, as the locals frequent the area to serve themselves tea and coffee, while others make their way to the local hotels and natural resort. Visitors are also drawn to the mountain wildlife such as the baboons, usually in the greener spots. Historically, the region was once inhabitance to the now extinct Arabian tigers. Heading towards Taif, Al Hada is also home to a local amusement park and cable car services with stunning views of the terrains.

Indeed, Al Hada is not just an essential way to getting around Saudi Arabia. The picturesque sceneries lure many a photographer to come admire and capture the landscapes for their stunning views.
