While vaccinated consumers everywhere around the world are feeling more confident about heading to shopping malls, there isn’t a doubt retail shopping has changed. Without the need to commute or wait in lines, many are preferring to stick to the convenience of online shopping. (Not to mention there isn’t the fear of walking away disappointed because you didn’t find your size.) Now, however, The Runway on Wheels (TROW) concept, the first of its kind in the Middle East, is offering a revolutionary alternative way to shop without the need to travel to a shopping destination either.
The mobile luxury boutique, a huge coach, allows you to step out into your driveway and instantly get transferred to a premium private and personalised shopping experience. Designed to emulate the glitz and glamour of the catwalk, the roving bus has been meticulously designed to convey the same experience to customers who hop on-board. As well as being decorated with beautiful high-end fixtures and furniture, it is a safe place to shop as the bus is sanitized after each home visit, there’s a limit to five shoppers at a time and staff members are tested regularly.
Those looking for fun and innovative ideas for private events can also book the bus. Whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, or just a great excuse to go on a shopping spree with some girlfriends, TROW makes for a completely different experience, right at someone’s doorstep.
TROW x Manolo Blahnik
Since shoes are particularly important to try on so you can get a sense of how comfortable they feel and how well they fit, it isn’t surprising Manolo Blahnik became the first company to collaborate with Runway on Wheels. Shoeaholics can enjoy an individualised experience with the help of the crew while shopping the latest creations, whether exquisite stiletto heels for wedding season or a comfy pair of flats to get through the summer in style. For the collaboration with the iconic luxury Spanish footwear brand, the bus has been transformed to look like one of Blahnik’s statement boutiques, with details including handmade German leather and the designer’s famous sketches.
“At Manolo Blahnik, we like to do things differently, which is why we are thrilled to be partnering with Runway on Wheels in our Middle Eastern market,” Kristina Blahnik, CEO of Manolo Blahnik, said at the time of the launch.
“It’s an incredible opportunity to give our loyal clients a new way of shopping and invite them into the World of Manolo,” she added. “Adorned in Manolos’s whimsical and iconic sketches, the bus will be an unmissable attraction and a unique experience to shop our seasonal creations.”
