Saudi women have been making powerful strides across manyindustry and one of them is aviation. Flight attendant Anhar Tashkandi joined Saudia airline two years ago.
“We completed the training period, which focused on ensuring the passengers’ comfort and safety,” she told Arab News. “This job offers us the opportunity to visit different countries and learn from their cultures.”
Saudi women have also been successful working as flight attendant - a job position that was once only restricted to male employees. Ashwaq Nasser shared a testimonial with Arab News where she reveled how proud she feels being one of the firsts to join this professions.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank my parents for supporting my choice of becoming a flight attendant,” she said. “I would also like to thank Saudia airline for providing us with the opportunity to join this program.”
Another flight attendant, Reham Bahmishan, commented on how when growing up she thought how odd it was to not have seen any Saudi female flight attendants.
“When I later saw that the Saudia airline was accepting applications for this position, I was very excited and applied immediately,” Bahmishan told Arab News. “Thanks to Saudia, I am currently living my childhood dream.”
