Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture announced the second edition of Flowerman Festival in Rijal Almaa, Asir happening from Sept. 13-27. Under the theme “Nine Centuries of Glory”, the festival celebrates the region’s culture, customs and traditions. One of the goals of the festival is to unpack what flower men culture means. And so, the event will cover “Flower Men and Determination” as well as the characteristics of Rijal Almaa through the depiction symbols, names, pieces of art, and stories.
Asir will also highlight the brilliant Saudi women that have contributed to art and heritage. Last but not least, the track “Rijal’s fort” embraces all-things design and architecture in the village.
Participants can also immerse themselves exceptional folklore performances set up in a 360-degree design. Foodies can sample dishes from Asiri cuisine at Rijal restaurant and then shop at the heritage market showcasing crafts from pioneer practitioners.
In 2019, Flowerman festival rolled out 16 cultural events with the participation of 10 cultural sectors and welcomed around 30,000 visitors. See you there!
