Dubai is all about keeping its residents and citizens fit, healthy and beacons of wellness all round, which is why the city hosts a number of annual sports and fitness events. If you’ve not been keeping on top of your fitness A game this year, its not too late as the winter season invites you to participate in three major wellness events that will help energize your mind, body and soul via a plethora of fun activities and sports: Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Active and Dubai Ride.
There is no better time than winter in Dubai to be outside and cycling is one way to enjoy the outdoors whilst getting fit. Taking place on November 5th, as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, Dubai Ride is a bike riding marathon that is held in two separate routes; the first is the general route which spans 14km and passes some of the city’s most notable landmarks and is open to anyone and everyone from age 10 and above. Family friendly, the second route is a 4km stroll through the Emaar Boulevard, which includes parts of Dubai Mall and the Downtown area. This ride accommodates children younger than 10, as it’s shorter. All riders must stop cycling by 7:30am and return to their cars before traffic resumes.
