The Khorfakkan Amphitheatre is one of the UAE’s newest concert venues and, as winter approaches in the country, it brings with it a new lease of life with outdoor events and cultural festivities. As part of Let’s Khorfakkan’s open air entertainment initiative for the winter months, the amphitheater will host performances by Syrian artist Assala Nasri and Kuwaiti singer Abdullah Al Rowaished later this month, as well as a series of concerts and events to promote the town as a cultural center for tourism.
On October 29th, Nasri and Al Rowaished will sing vintage songs that transport the audience on a trip back in time, reminding them of the iconic songs and soundtracks that have helmed the region’s music scene and identity over the last three decades.
Assala Nasri is renowned within the Arab music world for her powerful vocal range, and has headlined many a UAE cultural event and was the first artist to take the stage at Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Arena, alongside Emirati singer Hussain Al Jasmi—just to name a couple of her accolades.
Joining her, Abdullah Al Rowaished, is better known as the Ambassador of the Gulf Song, and will also take to the stage at the Khorfakkan Amphitheater to perform his most regarded Khaleeji hits – which were so popular that his concert in Al Majaz, in Sharjah sold out! Nawal El Kuwaitia, will also perform at the venue on November 18th 2021, followed by Majid Al Mohandis, and Saudi singer Dalia Mubarak, on January 14th 2022.
The Khorfakkan Amphitheater is on the east coast of the UAE, along the Gulf of Oman and was officially inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The concert venue can accommodate over 3,500 people and has a stone façade featuring 234 arches and 295 columns, reflecting the mountain-neighboring lifestyle in the town.
Not only can the venue host outdoor events for the winters, but also has a powerful cooling system allowing for it to host events all year round.
