This year we’ve seen a number of high-end labels collaborate – from Gucci X Balenciaga, to last month’s Fendace show, where art director at Fendi, Kim Jones and Donatella Versace collaborated to produce a high octane monogram filled collection. This month, another bit of exciting news came in where it was revealed on social media that Fendi has partnered up with none other than Kim Kardashian West herself on her SKIMS line of basics.
Where there had been rumors in the fashion circuit that the two brands may be working together, it was confirmed on their social media pages that they had joined forces on a limited edition capsule collection and by the looks of it, monograms are here to stay.
According to Jones and Kardashian-West, the collaboration “unites the luxury of Fendi with the innovation of Skims, with the reality star and business woman as the face of her own line. The campaign not only features her, but also Precious Lee, Tianna St Louis, Jessie Li, and Grace Valentine, all of whom modelling the body hugging separates, shot by infamous fashion photographer, Steven Meisel.
Kim Kardashian shared images of the forthcoming offering covered in Fendi’s Zucca and the SKIMS logo: tights and matching bralettes, a monogrammed puffer jacket, purple leggings and body-con dresses.
Fendi x Skims launches November 2nd 2021 and will have a pop-up at The Dubai Mall’s Fashion Catwalk and will be available in select stores in the region. On November 9th 2021, the collection will also launch on a new website Fendiskims.com.
