The collection, set to drop globally on January 13, includes ready-to-wear, accessories and bags for the first time in the collaboration’s history. Plus, it celebrates two timeless icons with its elevated takes of the adidas Originals “Forum,” available in high and low silhouettes, and Prada’s Re-Nylon fabric.
The new chapter of the ongoing collaborative partnership raises the sustainability bar even more as both brands pursue shared commitments to crucial eco-friendly goals. Each piece of luxury leisurewear, blending Prada’s expert craftsmanship with adidas’ lineage of sportswear innovation, has been made in Italy by Prada, composed of the brand’s signature Re-Nylon fabric. First launched in 2019, Prada Re-Nylon is a groundbreaking textile created through the recycling of plastic waste collected from oceans and textile fibre waste. It can be purified and recycled indefinitely, without loss of any quality.
As well as coming in the revolutionary Re-Nylon textile from the brand that’s synonymous with cutting-edge style, the “Forum” has been playfully reinterpreted, with the addition of removable Prada mini-pouch attachments featuring the brand’s signature enamelled metal triangle. Chic and on the rebellious side, the reimagined “Forum” also features luxurious leather, Three-Stripes details and forefoot overlays, highlighting Prada’s world-renowned leather-working expertise. The trainers are available in monochromatic black and white colourways and come with sustainable dust bags.
For apparel, Prada, launched in 1913, has modified signature pieces with iconic adidas branding. The collection includes a track coat, a tracksuit, a sweater, a hooded Jacket and a bucket hat. Sleek, original and refined, each piece is available in black with white stripes or white with black stripes, with Prada’s metallic triangle.
The adidas for Prada collection also features six expertly crafted bags. Featuring adidas and Prada’s house codes, the travel bag, backpack and shopping bag are the larger options. Meanwhile, the bandoleer, BP hoodie and belt bag make up the range of smaller bags..They are all brought to life through the instantly recognisable Three-Stripes detailing from the global designer and developer of everything athletic and lifestyle and, of course, that Prada trademark.
Both loved houses are marking the innovative collection with a unique digital activation that brings brands and people together in a really inclusive and collaborative manner. Fans of the collection will be invited to participate in the metaverse with adidas and Prada through open-source co-creation.
