Most people who have watched Emily In Paris on Netflix have a love-hate relationship with the show and the number of faux pas the young American working in luxury, social media marketing makes throughout the show. The cultural misappropriation toward Parisians and the French and her outrageous outfit choices make it such watch.
Following a seemingly successful season 2, the show will return to our screens for seasons 3 and 4.
Taking to social media to announce the news of the show’s renewal, the official @emilyinparis Instagram page shared an image of Lily Collins, who plays Emily, with the caption “Say ‘bonjour’ to 3 & 4! EMILY IS OFFICIALLY RETURNING FOR TWO MORE SEASONS!”
Lily Collins also shared the exciting news on her Instagram page wearing an Emily in Paris t-shirt. At the end of season 2, audiences wondered whether Emily is going to stay in Paris and work for Sylvie’s new company or return to Chicago – so we guess we have an inkling that she’ll be staying after all!
According to director Darren Star who spoke about Emily’s pending decision, he said, “I have an idea what Emily’s decision is. The thing about this decision is there’s no right decision here. There’s no one decision that’s going to make everybody happy or that’s even going to make Emily happy. She has some tough choices, and she’s put in the middle of a lot of sticky situations at the end of the season.”
When Emily In Paris first hit our screens in October 2020, it became an instant hit, especially for the existence of the main character, a smart, well turned out, rather perfect American 20-something year old Emily who moves to Paris for work. Her life decisions in romance and fashion kept people hooked, and according to Netflix, the show had been viewed by 58 million households during its first 28 days on the streaming platform, so it shouldn’t come as any surprise that the show will return for a third and fourth season.
We could expect the third season to hit our screens later this year and for the fourth in early 2023.
