Young designers from all over the world have been able to collaborate with SHEIN X thanks to its Design Incubator Program. The initiative provides small independent designers the resources they need to build their brands, and the 2021 edition saw the global fashion and lifestyle e-retailer work with 57 designers from the Middle East.
The up-and-coming creatives got a chance to create new products and a complete capsule collection for the brand. While 56 collections have already been launched, the last one is set to drop in February.
In addition, 10 Arab designers were invited to the SHEIN YOUTOPIA event during the Dubai Shopping Festival, which took place from December 16 to 23, 2021. During the experiential activation, they shared their stories of being part of the SHEIN X project, in the form of telephone recordings, offering the guests opportunities to learn about the brand and their SHEIN X challenge at their phonebooth.
The SHEIN X programme has helped the talented designers bring their ideas to life in a way that remains true to themselves, without worrying about the commercial or competitive aspects of the fashion industry, The platform makes sure the designers are a priority while a dedicated team works closely alongside them and markets their brands to a massive scale audience.
Since the Designer Incubator Program launch in January 2021, SHEIN X, which was founded in 2012, has empowered over 600 designers. And it seems the leading international online retailer with operations in Guangzhou, Singapore and Los Angeles is just getting started as it has a new goal of reaching an additional 3,000 by the end of 2022. With the designers coming from different spots around the world, like US, Mexico, Italy, UAE, Malaysia and Australia, SHEIN can offer more variety and styles to its customers, found in over 150 countries.
