Karen Wazen has been tapped as the face for the latest Roberto Cavalli fragrance campaign. The Lebanese digital content creator is the first Middle Eastern ambassador to front a global campaign for the Italian luxury brand. Wazen, who is an entrepreneur as well, is also the first social media influencer the house partners with for such a campaign.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Karen to the Cavalli family. Her liberated spirit and glamorous style embodies the iconic Cavalli universe,” Fausto Puglisi, Roberto Cavalli’s Sicilian Creative Director, said in a statement. “We are proud to kickstart our collaboration together with a campaign that celebrates the core Cavalli fragrance pillars, which are the epitome of femininity and bring together a melody of notes inspired by our Italian heritage.”
The campaign featuring the Dubai-based mother-of-three puts “Signature,” “Uomo” and “Paradiso,” three of the label’s most renowned fragrances, in the spotlight. Set to be unveiled in February, the stills show a striking and fierce-looking Wazen dressed in the brand’s signature animal print, posing amidst backdrops that are inspired by wildlife designs. In the images, which were reportedly shot in Paris earlier this year, the fashionista’s beauty look is extremely natural and includes a nude lippie and stick-straight hair. However, being a Roberto Cavalli campaign there is bound to be a hint of drama, which is introduced via the feline cat eye make-up and theatrical gold manicure.
Wazen took to Instagram, where she has 7.1 million followers, to share a campaign image and the unadulterated joy she feels about the new career milestone.
“This is such a dream for an Arab girl from Lebanon to be the global spokesperson for such an iconic brand… thank you to the most amazing team for this opportunity and for an unforgettable experience. Thank you @faustopuglisi for believing in me and making me a part of this journey,” Wazen wrote.
The gorgeous brunette, who started her online journey with her Karen’s Choice blog back in 2016, now has over 12 million followers across all social media platforms, Considered one of the most influential figures in the Arab world, she has starred in plenty of regional projects for high-end brands like Prada, Ralph Lauren, Louis Vuitton and Cartier. Additionally, Wazen is an eyewear designer with her very own eponymous sunglasses brand, which she launched in 2018. The go-getter, who was named a High Profile Supporter of UNHCR in 2020, also introduced her first gaming app last year. The mobile app, available on iOS and Android, is titled “Karen Wazen: My World.”
